On our way home from Cannon Beach, we dropped in on our pals Nathan, Sara and their son Everett. It was great to see our old friends in their 'hood and to watch Everett and Stella figure out this whole playing together gig. Of course, they mostly kept to themselves, simply playing along side one another...
but they eventually recognized their shared coolness and independently reached out for each other's hands as we walked back from the park.
It's so great to catch up with dear friends who, despite having not really seen one anther for about a decade, are so obviously on the same page of life in terms of parenting philosophy and values. Disregard any Quayle-like implications here, Nathan and Sara, and just know that we appreciate your hospitality and loved getting to see you and your beautiful boy again. We hope to see you soon!
